I’m a total book worm. Always have been. When I was a little girl, it was always Magic Tree House or Goosebumps (anyone else?). Nowadays, my preference depends on my mood. Sometimes I’m feeling into a romance novel. And then the next minute I’m reading something nonfiction and historical. Lately, I’ve been in need of a little inspiration. Work and school has me exhausted and lacking motivation. What better way to put a little pep in my step than picking up a book and getting lost in it. Are you also in need of some motivation in your life? Check out these awesome books to read that’ll motivate you, make you chuckle, or even just brighten your spirits.
1. The Power of Now
This book by Eckhart Toll has sold over 2 million copies worldwide, and for good reason. This book teaches you how to live a pain free life by living in the present moment. By “living in the now”, you are able to find your path toward happiness and enlightenment.
2. The Alchemist
This is hands down one of the best books that I have EVER read. This is a story about a young shepard in search of his treasure. It teaches you to listen to your heart and follow your dreams. The coolest part about this book? Each time I read it, I feel like I get a different message and learn a new lesson. It’s like I am reading it for the first time.
3. The Life You Imagine: Life Lessons for Achieving Your Dreams
Okay so maybe I am biased because I’m a Yankee fan. But you have to admit, Derek Jeter is pretty inspirational. He made his dream of being a New York Yankee a reality through hard work and perseverance. If you’re an athlete, this one is for you!
4. The Secret
This is actually one of my mom’s favorite books. It’s all about using the power of positivity to get what you want out of life. All it takes is sending those good vibes out to the world.
5. I Was Told There Would Be Cake
In need of a laugh? Check this one out. Thr author tells tales of real life situations. Stories that any twentysomething adult will relate to. You know what they say – laughter is the best medicine!
