Contest Rules

"GET UP AND DO SOMETHING” VIDEO CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS

All Delaware students (public, private or home schools), in grades 6 through 12 are eligible to participate in the “Get Up And Do Something” video contest.

The contest is soliciting 30-second video commercials that promote physical activity OR healthy eating among kids and/or their families. Students can submit up to two entries that meet the contest criteria.

Entries that meet the criteria will be uploaded onto the website www.getupanddosomething.org and will be part of a statewide voting contest. Students across the state can vote for their favorite ad(s) as many times as they wish with a limit of one vote per day.

Student(s) with entries that receive the most votes and are favorably reviewed by an expert panel will receive a prize and be considered for possible airing in the Delaware Division of Public Health’s “Get Up And Do Something” campaign.

Contest Rules:

  1. To be eligible to participate students must be:
    1. Delaware and US residents
    2. Attending a public, private or home school in Delaware
    3. In grades 6 through 12
  2. You may submit up to 2 entries per person (or per group).
  3. Video ads must be no longer than 30 seconds maximum.
  4. All ads must mention the “Get Up And Do Something” campaign.
  5. All submissions must promote healthy eating and/or physical activity.
  6. Video submissions must be in .mpg, .wmv, .avi or .mov formats.
  7. All submissions must be received by 5:00 pm March 15, 2010. Late entries will not be accepted.
  8. All submissions must be the original work of the student(s), although guidance can be provided by adults and/or teachers.
  9. All submissions become the property of the Delaware Division of Public Health and the “Get Up And Do Something” campaign.

All entries are subject to review by an expert panel for content and appropriateness prior to uploading onto the campaign website, and eventual voting.

  • Use of the “Get Up And Do Something” branding
  • Length appropriateness
  • Creativity
  • Message clarity and relevance
  • Message stickiness and persuasiveness
  • Music and graphic use
