My Kinda Sandwich

I’m sitting in class the other night and my stomach starts rumbling. Of course, seeing as I barely made it to class on time, stopping for food was a bit out of the question. As I’m suffering through the beginning stages of being HANGRY, I look over and what do I see?.. Someone indulging in a giant sandwich. This wasn’t a simple PB&J kind of sandwich. I’m talking like fresh baked focaccia bread (yeah you could smell it), with tons of greens, turkey, cheese and… ughh I’m salivating just writing about it. So rather than paying attention in class, I started to fantasize about all the different types of sandwiches I could make when I got home from class. I always resort to a recreation of a sandwich I got once when I was visiting my sister in Brooklyn (yeah yeah I know nothing beats NY food). It’s definitely my kinda sandwich. So out of the kindness of my heart, I decided to share what’s in this special sandwich with you.

The Secret Ingredients:

  • Hummus

  • Cucumber

  • Roasted Pepper

  • Onions

  • Tomato (if you aren’t sketched out by them like me)

  • Havarti Cheese

  • Alfalfa Sprouts

  • Whole Wheat Toast (Lightly toasted is the jam)

  • Lots of Hot Sauce

If and when you ever decide to give this sandwich a try, I promise you will not be disappointed. As a girl who was raised on grandma’s ham and cheese, this one is a close second!
