Partners Delaware Health and Social Services Division of Public Health The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) mission is "To improve the quality of life for Delaware's citizens by promoting health and well-being, fostering self-sufficiency, and protecting vulnerable populations." Within DHSS, the Division of Public Health offers a variety of preventative health services and programs throughout the State of Delaware.
Healthy Delaware 2010Healthy Delaware 2010 is Delaware’s prevention agenda and community health guide for the first decade of the 21st century. The document is the result of a unique private-public initiative. The plan is organized by targeted audiences with four broad-based health goals containing 13 specific focus areas. The health goals are: a) promoting healthy behaviors, b) promoting healthy communities, c) preventing and reducing disease, and) improving health systems.
Delaware Coalition to Promote Physical ActivityThe Delaware Coalition to Promote Physical Activity and Healthy Nutrition is comprised of both individuals and representatives from for-profit, non-profit and public institutions. The organization is dedicated to providing information and helping coordinate efforts within the State of Delaware that leads to an increased awareness of all Delawareans of the importance of a Healthy Active Lifestyle.
